Our Schools COO Comments on CA Attorney General’s Investigation into School Board for Civil Rights Violations

Kristi Hirst, a Chino Valley district parent and founder of Our Schools USA, a nonprofit group that advocates for quality education, said she hopes Bonta’s announcement sends a message to other school districts that such policies are “not going to be accepted.”

The rules promote distrust of teachers and schools and it is not something on which the school board should be focusing, Hirst said Friday.

“We have state laws and anti-discrimination policies in place for a reason,” Hirst said. “We felt this policy went against that and therefore the state was needed to step in to protect these students.”
